A Tribute to My Mom

Qur'an sayings about mother =)

"Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. And out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: ‘My Lord! bestow on them Thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood' "(17:23-24).

"We have enjoined on man and woman kindness to parents; but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not'" (29:8).

"We have enjoined on man and woman (to be good) to his/her parents; show gratitude to Me and to thy parents; to Me is (thy final) Goal. If they (parents) strive to make thee join in worship with Me things of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration) and follow the way of those who turn to Me (in love)" (31:14-15).

"We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents; in pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth" (46:15).

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sayings about mother =)

The Prophet Muhammad said, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him: Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother (Ahmad, Nasai).

A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your father. (Bukhari, Muslim).

Abdullah ibn Amr related that the Messenger of Allah said: The major sins are to believe that Allah has partners, to disobey one's parents, to commit murder, and to bear false witness (Bukhari, Muslim).

Abu Usaid Saidi said: We were once sitting with Rasulullah when a man from the tribe of Salmah came and said to him: O Messenger of Allah! do my parents have rights over me even after they have died? And Rasulullah said: Yes. You must pray to Allah to bless them with His Forgiveness and Mercy, fulfill the promises they made to anyone, and respect their relations and their friends (Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah).

It is narrated by Asma bint Abu Bakr that during the treaty of Hudaibiyah, her mother, who was then pagan, came to see her from Makkah. Asma informed the Messenger of Allah of her arrival and also that she needed help. He said: Be good to your mother (Bukhari, Muslim).

What Allah says through Qur'an about prophet Jesus(peace be upon him)

It is Christmas time and everywhere we go(in Brazil) we get to listen to those christmas' song that calls prophet Jesus(peace be upon him) son of God. La ilaha ila Allah, wahdahu la sharik Allah.

Here goes a message from Allah on Qur'an for the Christians. SubhanAllah(Glory be to Allah)!

" O ye people of the Book; exceed not the bounds in Your religion, and say not of Allah save that which is the truth. The Messiah Isa, son of Maryam, is but an apostle of Allah and His word --He cast it upon Maryam-- and a spirit from Him. Believe wherefore in Allah and His apostles, and say not: three. Desist, that it may be well for you. Allah is but the One God: hallowed be He that there should be unto Him a son! His is whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth, and sufficeth Allah as a Trustee. The Messiah disdaineth not that he should be a bondman of Allah, nor do the angels brought near. And whosoever disdaineth serving Him and stiff-necked, anon He shall gather them all unto Him." (Qur'an 4:171-172)

Some Christians get offended when hearing muslims calling Jesus(peace be uppon him) a prophet of Allah. They should not. As muslims we must respect Jesus(peace be upon him) and all other prophets of Allah, taking their lives (as true servants of Allah) as exemple for our own lives. They were blessed men by Allah and they said nothing but the message of Allah and ordered nothing but the submission to Allah.

Instead of asking things(making suppications) to prophet Jesus, we better ask things to Allah alone... and also ask Allah to guide us to follow the great exemple of Jesus(peace be upon him).

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle(Muhammad) saying, "I am the nearest of all the people to the son of Mary, and all the prophets are paternal brothers, and there has been no prophet between me and him (i.e. Jesus)."
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 651:

May Allah guide us all to the straight path! Ameen.

When You Truly Submit.....

بسم اللّٰہ الرحمٰن الرحیم
السلامُ علیکم و رحمۃ اللہ و برکاتہ

Ever wonder why it is that most of us are 'born and raised' Muslims yet most new Muslims are better practicing and more devout than us?
And why is it that millions of people go for hajj yet most of them come back unchanged, unaffected?
And why is it that we listen to khutbahs and lectures and duroos all the time, yet it does not influence us. It does not make us change for the better. It does not make us give up those bad habits, those sins that we commit?
Why, we even wash and shroud and bury the dead with our own two hands, yet we come back from the graveyard as if nothing happened. We go right back to our daily lives...unaffected.....unmoved.

Don't we know that soon we will be joining them? Don't we believe in the Aakhirah?
Don't we fear Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala???
Sure we do.

Then why is it that we keep doing those sins that we commit, although we know very well that it is wrong? Why don't we change our ways? Why don't we worship Allaah the way we are supposed to?

The answer to all those questions is that we have not yet truly submitted ourselves to Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala.
In fact, the ugly, blunt truth is that we are not truly "Muslim".

Sure we all know that the word “Islam” means “submission”, and the word “Muslim” means “ the one who submits to Allaah”.
But what does it really mean to 'submit' to Allaah? Have we ever thought about that?

Submission means to surrender to Allaah.
......to put Allaah's Will before your own, even if it means letting go of the things you love.
..... to put your heart, your soul, your desires, your very being, behind and put what Allaah has decreed above all else. And to 'erase' your logic and what your mind says and replace that with the Orders of Allaah, even if you don't understand the 'reasons' behind them.

That is true submission and that is truly being a Muslim.

Allaah told Ibraaheem (Alayhi Salaam) to surrender his will to Him.
"When his Lord said to him: 'Submit...'" (Surah Baqarah:131)

And what did Ibraaheem do?

"He answered: 'I submit to the Lord of the Worlds." (Baqarah:131)

Utter submission, right then and there...no ifs...no buts.....no questions asked.

Similarly, Allaah has ordered me and you:
"But your Allah is One Allah. Submit then, your wills to Him (in Islam): and give the good news to those who humble themselves." (Surah Hajj:34)

But what did you and I do? Did we submit??

Yes, Alahmdulillaah, we are Muslim.
But, there comes a point in every Muslim's life when he decides to enter into Islaam.
Let me say it again, one more time. And read it slowly this time....

There comes a point in every Muslim's life when he decides to enter into Islaam.

O Muslim, ask yourself this.....Have I entered Islaam? Have I submitted?

The day that you truly realize that Allaah is your Master, your Creator, your Owner, that's the day you will submit.
The day you realize that worship means to obey, that's the day you will submit.
The day that you lower that gaze just because it is Allaah's order, the day that you stop selling that alcohol,
the day you put on that hijaab, that's the day you will submit.

When it doesn't matter what you look like. It doesn't matter what others will say. It doesn't matter what your 'friends' think. All that matters is what Allaah is pleased with. That's the day you will submit.

When you stop lying and cheating and backbiting and hurting people, even though you may pray five times a day and fast.
It doesn't matter if you have a Muslim name; you might be Muhammad or Fatima. What matters is whether you are Muslim on the inside. That's what counts.
When you fear Allaah in private as much as you fear Him in public, when His Orders become your top most priority and His Displeasure your biggest fear, that's the day you will submit.

The day you actually wait for the prayer, the day when you can't wait to meet Allaah, when you truly believe in the Day of Judgment, when you fear to stand in front of Him, that's the day you will submit.

The day when you love to read the Qur'aan....when every ayaah comes alive and seems like it is speaking about you, to you. When every sentence you say in the prayer becomes a conversation with your Rabb.... When all else ceases to exist except Allaah's Pleasure, when nothing else matters but His Will, that's the day you will submit.

When you stop belittling your sins and consider them as mountains ready to fall on top of your head....
when their very thought makes you quiver and shudder, and causes your heart to shake and skip a beat... when your skin trembles and your eyes shed tears....when you cannot help but fall down into sajda and ask Allaah to forgive you, the day you truly repent; that's the day you will submit.

The day, O Muslim, when following the Sunnah of the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) and the way of the Sahaabah becomes more important to you than the way of your Imaam, your Shaikh, your parents, or culture, THAT'S THE DAY YOU WILL SUBMIT.
That is supreme dedication.

"But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad ) the judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission." (Surah an-Nisaa:65)

Allaah says in this noble ayah that you cannot be a true Muslim unless you submit.

When is that point going to be in your life???
When will you submit???

"And turn to your Lord and surrender yourselves to Him before the punishment overtakes you, for then you will not be helped. And follow the best of what has been sent down from your Lord before the punishment overtakes you suddenly, while you are unaware. Lest any soul should say: 'Sadly, I have neglected my duty to Allah and was of those that mocked.'" (Surah az-Zumar:54-56)

Five reasons why Allah uses problems

The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you - depending on how you respond to them. Unfortunately, most people fail to see how Allah wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring.

Here are five ways Allah wants to use the problems in your life:

1. Allah uses problems to DIRECT you.
Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention? "Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways."

2. Allah uses problems to INSPECT you.
People are like tea bags...if you want to know what's inside them, just drop them into hot ever water! Has God tested your faith with a problem What do problems reveal about
you? "When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience."

3. Allah uses problems to CORRECT you.
Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove.... But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something... health, money, a relationship. .. by losing it. "It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to your laws."

4. Allah uses problems to PROTECT you.
A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem - but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when management's actions were eventually discovered. "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good...

5. Allah uses problems to PERFECT you.
Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders. God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you're going to take with you into eternity. "We can rejoice when we run into problems...they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady."

Here's the point:

God is at work in your life - even when you do not recognize it or understand it.

But it's much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him.

"Success can be measured not only in achievements, but in lessons learned, lives touched and moments shared along the way"

Allah Knows Best...
